An Initiative By NIFFT
KOSHRIT is a social cum collaborative initiative commenced by Entrepreneurship Development Cell, NIFFT Ranchi which endeavors to bring into the reach of the needy, one of the most important requisites to healthy well being, that is MEDICINES.
The aim of this initiative is to improve the health of the unprivileged by providing free medicines to them. The useful medicines that students do not use after they get cured will be collected from them and will be available at the medical shops near NIFFT. The ones in need of these medicines will have easy access to these free of cost.

National Institute of Foundry and Forge Technology (commonly referred as NIFFT) is a Government of India co-educational technical institute located at Hatia, Ranchi, Jharkhand. It was established by the Government of India in 1966 in collaboration with UNDP-UNESCO.
With a student strength of nearly 1000, we have always embarked upon projects and initiatives which foster social welfare and a pronounced impact on the unprivileged society.
KARTAVYA is an NGO run by the students of NIFFT which seeks to provide free and quality education to the children of slum areas. It is an ongoing effort since 2007 with two centers and around 100 students under our wing.
UMMEED is a social welfare program that aims to help the poor survive the harsh winter by donating them clothes. The enormous success of this program has drawn in support from other institutions of Ranchi as well.
We are now at the outset of a new social debut which would provide free medicines at the medical shops near NIFFT.

Why.
The first wealth is health. The idea of KOSHRIT emanated from a simple incident. When we were throwing our medicines along with the garbage while changing our hostels, we came with this idea of giving it to the needy instead of throwing it away. We also wanted to help needy people have their ways towards healthy mind and body. We have set on to succor all those who cannot afford medicines because they are nearly on breadline. KOSHRIT will help them get an easy access to medicines and we are sure to stimulate good public health in near future by this initiative.
